The Greater White-fronted Goose (Anser albifrons)

The breeding distribution of the Greater White-fronted Goose is large confined to the artic circle. Its range encompasses the tundra belt across Eurasia starting from the Kanine Peninsula eastward across Sibiria; and from Alaska across the North American continent. There is also breeding distribution in the Netherlands and the North of Belgium.

Voice: Gabbling notes, similar to other grey geese, though higher pitched and quicker. Usual notes a cackling "kow-lyow" or "lyo-lyok".

Habitat: In Winter on grassland, arable fields near coasts, marshes, estuaries and rivers. Breeds sociably on moors, marshes, reed-beds, boggy thickets and islets.
